Materials Needed:

  • Yarn: I use a 100% cotton yarn from my local store. The best match and my top recommendation for this pattern is Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK.
    For the sparkly details, I used a metallic viscose thread. A great international alternative available on LoveCrafts is DMC Diamant.
  • Hook: I used a 2mm hook. I highly recommend Clover Amour Hooks for the best experience.

CH – chain
SC – single crochet
BLO – back loop only
FLO – front loop only
INC – increase
DEC – decrease
SL ST – slip stitch

Peduncle and calyx

With green yarn
Round B: mr, 6sc = [6]
Round 2-6: 6sc = [6] (5 rounds)
Round 7: (ch5, starting in second chain from hook 4 sl st, sl st in next stitch of round 6) x 6
With this you will make a base for 6 petals. It will be on every petal 8 stitches, and one stitch
at the base between every two petals

Round 8: (4sc, inc, 3sc, sl st) x 6
Note: 4sc, inc, 3sc – on petal, Sl st – on base between two petals
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

With red yarn
Round 1: mr, 6sc = [6]
Round 2: (sc, inc) x 3 = [9]
Round 3: (sc, inc, sc) x 3 = [12]
Round 4: (3sc, inc) x 3 = [15]
Round 5: (2sc, inc, 2sc) x 3 = [18]
Round 6: (5sc, inc) x 3 = [21]
Round 7: (3sc, inc, 3sc) x 3 = [24]
Round 8: (7sc, inc) x 3 = [27]
Round 9: (4sc, inc, 4sc) x 3 = [30]
Round 10-13: 30sc = [30] (4 rounds)
Round 14: (3sc, dec) x 6 = [24]
Round 15: (sc, dec, sc) x 6 = [18]
Round 16: (sc, dec) x 6 = [12]
Embroider pits (seeds) with gold yarn.
Stuff strawberry.
Round 17: 6 x dec = [6]
Fasten off and close.
Sew calyx on the top of the strawberry.

Round 5: (2sc, inc, 2sc) x 3 = [18]
Round 6: (5sc, inc) x 3 = [21]
Round 7: (3sc, inc, 3sc) x 3 = [24]
Round 8: (7sc, inc) x 3 = [27]
Round 9a: FLO (4sc, inc, 4sc) x 3 = [30]
Fasten off brown yarn
Attach red yarn on the first back loop of round 8
Round 9b: BLO (4sc, inc, 4sc) x 3 = [30]
Note: Round 9a creates the ‘chocolate’ edge, while 9b continues the body of the strawberry.
Round 10-13: 30sc = [30]
Round 14: (3sc, dec) x 6 = [24]
(4 rounds)
